A house located at the last train stop at suburb in the Nagoya City.]]>
Once becomes evening, the number of commuter crowd through the ticket gate. One transfer to bus after, others head back their home on their foot. As it further from the station, the streams of crowd split like a tree branch. By the time when they arrive around their house, they are often just by themselves. There may be somebody waiting for him/her, but the ramification has not ended yet. After the daily dinner or the last night bath, one gets their own bedroom. This is the end of ramification at last. He/she finally goes to sleep. The bedroom is where the last ramification of the day.
Differ from city center where their destinations are entangled, the commuter town has firm city structure like a tree. To design a house in commuter town, it is necessary to design the last branch of tree it own. However, we can attempt to resist it at least by making the last branch not ramified, but looped.
Material of metal is hard and heavy. Usually it isn't familiar texture for our body. But once becomes accessory like a necklace, suddenly it becomes our daily element to store in the drawer and wear it along the body line. Structure of necklace, for example, gives greater flexibility since it simply linked one to another. The connection is loosen enough. Equally if rectangular rooms are linked on a loop and folded according to the program, I thought, does a room has a greater chance to be loosen from the hard and heavy building?
From the outside appearance, the rectangular volume cluster one to the other, but inside of space works like a necklace. Rooms are articulated slightly by steps and angles between them. The courtyard which can be seen from every room and the parallel beams which are spanned across the whole residence give not only unique sequences but totality as a house.
